European  Biking Tour Project

Hai tra i 18 e i 30 anni? Sei socievole, dinamico, hai sete di conoscenza?  Sei la prossima maglia gialla del Tour de France…  Allora unisciti a noi per la costruzione e la partecipazione a questo scambio sul territorio bretone con altri 15 giovani europei (danesi, francesi e italiani).  Non c’è bisogno di parlare fluentemente inglese, accettiamo lo sforzo! The project “European Biking Tour Project” wants to question a group of 20 young European participants (French, Danish, Italian and Maltese) on three themes: agriculture / environment, migration and European citizenship during an exchange young people under the Erasmus + program.

By carrying out this action, the House of Europe of Rennes and Haute-Bretagne wishes, with its partners, to promote the dialogue, the cooperation and the participation of the young people thanks to this project created for and by the young people.

During this exchange, young people will discover local initiatives responding to these challenges, and will have the opportunity to question and work on selected themes: in fact, agriculture, migration and European citizenship are primordial and current issues, present in each of the partner territories.

In addition, this project, conceived around the bike as a device of soft mobility but also as an activity in its own right, will be able to develop and disseminate the positive values of sport.

The 20 young Europeans: 5 French, 5 Danish, 5 Italian and 5 Maltese will choose the theme on which they wish to work, in multicultural groups of 7 or 6 people. Then, for a wider variety of projects, they will be divided into subgroups of 3 or 4 participants. Although groups and sub-groups are formed, it is a collective adventure, allowing confronting several European cultures and visions.

During this exchange, young people will be able to participate in several activities, such as:

– Meetings and discoveries of initiatives and actors of the territories: through these meetings and discoveries of initiatives, young people will have the opportunity to better understand the issues around the different themes (agriculture / environment, migration, citizenship)

– “Workshops”, collaborative workshops: time for collective reflection with an external speaker through debates, role plays and simulations

– Collective challenges: allows you to discover a culture and learn how to live together. These

collective challenges will be animated around the achievement of a fun challenge, for example with a European coffee in one of the partner countries.

Production of video content production and production of video content during the exchange, which will be broadcast during the exchange on social networks and websites, but also a video grouping these different videos at the closing party.

The use of the bike as a soft mobility device seemed important to us because it will strengthen the collective dimension and the team spirit of the participants, and will also help to spread the positive values of the sport. Also, the realization of media contents (video, social networks, Internet, radio chronicles, articles of press) will give to the participants the opportunity to communicate on their project of exchange, by working in multicultural team.

In addition, a project sheet will be asked to the groups to imagine a concrete solution to these three themes. At the end of the exchange, they will be presented to a jury composed of public and private partners who will elect their favorite projects. The young people, following these two weeks of exchanges, meetings and collective work, will have been fed with tools and information making them able to propose an alternative or simply an improvement to the challenges of the territories.
